Mr. Allan Wood was appointed the chairman of the General Legal Council on 23 March 2016. He was admitted to the Jamaican Bar in 1982 and appointed Queen’s Counsel in 2010.
Mr. Wood has chaired the Council’s Committee on the implementation of a regime to extend anti-money laundering regulations to attorneys-at-law and he was a member of the Disciplinary Committee of the General Legal Council from 1999 until his retirement from that body in 2015.
Mr. Wood is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (MCIArb) and he is an associate tutor at the Norman Manley Law School. Mr Wood is a past member of the Council of the Jamaican Bar Association.
